LLCD Seawalls · Johnston County
Heavy-duty seawalls, custom docks & shoreline stabilization across Eastern NC — serving Johnston County and the surrounding area.
Johnston County is one of the fastest-growing counties in North Carolina, and a lot of that growth is landing on water that used to be quiet farmland — the stretch of the Neuse through Smithfield and Clayton, and the smaller creeks that feed it.
Smithfield and Clayton both sit on the river itself, with the Little River joining from the west and Swift Creek cutting through closer to town. As new neighborhoods and larger lots get built along that corridor, we see two very different kinds of calls: brand-new waterfront construction on land that never had a structure on it, and older camps along the same river that need pilings or bulkheads brought up to current standards.
Selma, Four Oaks, Benson, Princeton, and Kenly sit further from the main river but still touch smaller creek and pond frontage, which is usually a different scale of project than a river lot — smaller structures, different footing, and far less current to design around.

What we see in Johnston County
Waterfront in Johnston County splits fairly cleanly in two. Along the river corridor through Smithfield and Clayton, lots tend to be newer or newly redeveloped, and there's enough current that dock and bulkhead footings have to account for it rather than treat the water as a still pond. Away from that corridor — around Selma, Four Oaks, Benson, and creeks like Swift Creek — frontage is usually a farm pond, a subdivision amenity lake, or a quiet tributary with little current, where a soft bank matters more than moving water. Because so much of the county is still converting from farmland to residential, we get called in early on new builds nearly as often as we get called for repair work on something decades old.
